MDP on Management Practices in Oil and Gas Industry
Department of Oil and Gas of College of Management & Economics Studies, UPES in collaboration with Centre for Management Development has organized a three day Management Development Program (Management practices in Oil & Gas industry) for the executives of Oil & Gas industry with experience (raqnging from 3 to 20 years) from 17th to 19th of April, 2014. 13 participants of mid-career government and non-government officials from 7 different organisations such as Total Oil, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, MGL, EIL and IGL attended the program. Shri. B. S. Negi (Ex-Member, PNGRB, Ex-Director, GAIL) inaugurated the program and discussed the need of (HSE)2 [i.e. health, habit, safety, security, environment and economics] in today’s industrial development. He also stressed emphatically on the need of capacity building for the development of Indian energy industry.
The three day program was packed with interactions between various dignitaries from the industry who took sessions on various topics pertaining to the subject area. In an highly interactive session, the chief guest discussed various regulatory regimes and policies pertaining to Oil & Gas industry, Mr. Jayant S. Pandya (Ex-Head, Capital Projects Consulting Group, USA) discussed on how to accomplish a successful project, Mr. Kumar Amit (Associate specialist, Smart Cube) discussed on energy trading and risk management concepts and Ms. Surbhi Arora (Associate Professor, Glocal University) spoke on the economic importance of Oil & Gas in Indian Economy.
