E-Business has come a long way in the last 15 years. As technology continues to grow at a rapid pace, e-business harnesses new techniques to make online selling and online shopping a lot more efficient and convenient. Riding on the strong growth momentum of 2016, the e-commerce sector is estimated to see a 72% jump in the average annual spend on online purchases per individual in 2017, from the current level of 65%.
Ashu Malhotra, senior VPHR, Jabong.com informs that the e-commerce industry has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few years. "As per a CRISIL research report, ecommerce in India is estimated to grow at 50-55% annually for the next three years and is touted to become a Rs 50,000-crore industry by 2016," he shares.
Keeping in mind the immense growth and opportunity in E-Business sector, UPES has launched undergraduate program in E-Business to provide necessary skill sets required to be part of the workforce joining the same segment. The program would enable the students to understand the e-business and ecommerce sector in-depth. The curriculum over the span of three years would impart necessary technical and management knowledge required at work in the respective sector. The curriculum would also facilitate the students to establish themselves as entrepreneur in e-business. Students would be exposed to ecommerce, Digital design and communication, online marketing, advertising and promotion, technologies in e-business, legal aspects of ecommerce, and fundamentals of startup business to facilitate entrepreneurship.
