Overview
With rapid advancements in mobile, landline and WAN technologies, the world of Telecom is witnessing tremendous growth. Existing large Telecom players (such as Bharti, Reliance, Vodafone, Tata Telecom, etc in India) are continuing to expand their networks rapidly, while newer Telecom companies and value-added-services co’s are coming up quickly to provide innovative offerings for the consumer.

Telecom players worldwide are also facing opportunities as well as challenges, as the competition hots up.

On the mobile devices side, newer solutions and Apps for smart phones and Tablet devices are taking the markets by storm. Apple, Android, BlackBerry, and other several manufacturers are making rapid strides. Innovation is the key here. In this very interesting market, a good programmer and marketer can earn handsome rewards.

There are many, many jobs opening up in the word of Telecom. The jobs are with Telecom companies, System Integration (S.I.) companies (such as TCS, Infosys, IBM, Wipro, Accenture, etc), solution providers (such as Subex), etc, as well as opportunity for individuals and for entrepreneurship.

Our B. Tech. program in Computer Science with specialization in Telecom Informatics prepares you for an exciting career in the Telecom domain. On passing out, you can choose a career either with Switch suppliers, or with Telecom service providers, or with leading Global S.I. or ISV companies. And if you are entrepreneurship inclined, you can give shape to your own idea and dreams.

The program will teach students, among other subjects, the basics of networking, and telecom infrastructure., mobile communications standards and network design, IT applications used in telecom domain, mobile apps programming, and business analytics and optimization.
