No less “special” the fifth convocation witnessed the felicitation of one of UPES’ own - Dr. D. N. Saraf, Distinguished Professor, UPES, for his “outstanding contribution in research and sustained excellence in teaching, learning and developmental activities”.
The highlights of the event were the presentation of computers to the teachers of primary schools and the announcement of the Cairn Laureate Student Scholarship programme at UPES. The computers were presented as part of the Community Development initiatives of UPES. The Cairn Scholarship (Rs. 70,000 each for the meritorious students for per academic year) was presented to Vaibhav Gupta (B. Tech – Applied Petroleum Engineering) and Rahul Dev Chauhan (B. Tech – Upstream & Downstream Engineering). The scholarships were received by their proud and beaming parents.
