The mother campus of the University, christened as ‘Energy Acres’, is spread over 30 acres of the lush green Pondha Valley in the foothills of the Himalays. A wi-fi enabled facility, ‘Energy Acres’ provides an invigorating academic and research environment.

The campus has more than 600,000 sq.ft. of built-up area housing 5000+ students, 350+ faculty members, 100 multimedia enabled classrooms, 61 super specialised labs, a new age learning resource centre, and advanced computing centre, a well equipped gym, basketball court, playing fields, excellent cafes, fire tender, infirmary with ambulance, shopping complex, food court and extensive hostel facilities.

UPES is the first University in India to successfully implement the SAP solution for Higher Education and Research (HE&R) for which it has received both national and international acclaim. It is also the first Energy University in the country to establish a working Bio-Fuels Research Laboratory (BRL) to conduct research in the production, evaluation and utilisation of bio-fuels. UPES’s interactive pedagogy is such that it even has an actual MiG-23 aircraft on campus!
