Learning Resource Centre
A well equipped library is the backbone of any university. Constructed in a total area of more than 5000 sq. ft., UPES’s new age Learning Resource Centre has a seating capacity of more than 100 students and contains over 40000 volumes of publications including books, standards, reports, proceedings and more than 240 National and International Journals in the fields of Petroleum Exploration, Power, Infrastructure, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Management, etc.
The UPES Learning Resource Centre has a rich collection of online resources in terms of CDs, access to specialised portals on Oil & Gas and Power related information, WestLaw International for UK law information, legalpundits.com and Manupatra for latest Supreme Court and High Court judgements, Indiastat.com for general statistical information and EBSCO which is a leading online site providing access to 81000 publishers globally, for students pursuing legal courses.
UPES has also acquired Institutional Memberships of the British Council Library, the American Centre Library, the AIMA Library, the Central Secretariat Library, and DELNET. UPES is also in the process of building a digitized library whereby many internationally acclaimed e-books will be available to students and faculty members.
In fact, as part international cooperation and collaboration efforts, IFP (France) gifted 138 books on Petroleum Engineering to the University. The global oil major Shell has also gifted a large number of technical books to the library.
UPES has also introduced an e-enabled student-teacher interaction based Learning Management System to ensure symbiotic exchange of tacit information.
