School of Engineering (SOE)

UPES School of Engineering offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. programs across a wide spectrum of specialization areas.

These include Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Systems, Geo-Science Engineering, Automotive Design Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Disaster Management, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Nanotechnology, Fire Safety Engineering, Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and several others.

The programs offered under enable the students to develop in-depth understanding of theoretical concepts and practical application which is further enhanced through active involvement of students in research work, regular workshops and guest lectures by domain experts from respective industries. The curriculum of these programs includes sector centric knowledge along with theories pertinent to the future of the core industries.

The campus is fully equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and learning tools for domain specific engineering studies. This includes a Fire Safety Ground, Biodiesel Fueling Station, Solar Installation, In-house Oil Rig, Tatra Truck as well as a Wind Mill apart from other facilities such as smart classrooms and an exhaustive e-library with digitized resources. The concept of outdoor labs further enhances the learning experience at UPES.

Petroleum & Energy Studies in 2005 with over 20 years of rich experience in in Project Management, Energy Management and Safety and maintenance in the engineering sector.

The students are introduced to the real world and taken for industrial visits in order to improve their learning curve and acquaint them with the chosen sector. Through an interactive teaching methodology, SOE allows the students to explore, discover and understand various aspects of the respective core sectors.

Team Hawks wins Efficycle 2015

Team HAWKS 2.0 comprising of ten B.Tech. Automotive Design Engineering & Mechanical 3rd year students represented our college at event Efficycle 2015 organised by SAENIS in partnership with MARUTI SUZUKI INDIA LIMITED & ICAT at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar. The team secured an ALL INDIA RANK 4 out of 196 teams which participated from all over the country. They also secured first prize in the LIGHT WEIGHT CATEGORY and also the first prize in BEST INNOVATION category.

Team Hawks wins Efficycle 2015

The event is aimed to bring out the innovative and creative potential of young automobile enthusiasts. Undergraduate students from different technical streams can participate in the event. The basic outline of event consists of designing and fabricating a go-kart and then competing with those go-karts in the final race. Organizing committee of NKRC is VIRTUALIS MOTORSPORTS. The Finals were held at RPM Circuit Indore, Team XLR8 from UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM AND ENERGY STUDIES won the “AUTOCROSS” Award which is provided to the vehicle which has the best maneuverability and secured all India 10th position.
