His research background includes five years of experience at the Ph.D. level in IIT Roorkee, India in the field of Light-Sensitive Organometallic Ruthenium Nitrosyl Complexes. He has three years of experience as a postdoctoral fellow at UFC, Besancon, France and UBO, Brest, France. These experiences allowed him to acquire a solid knowledge of the photophysical, photochemical and electrochemical properties of ruthenium(II) polypyridyl complexes. In his research career, he disseminated the research findings in 25 international peer-reviewed journals and participated in 10 national and international conferences.

Honours and Achievements:

  • Awarded prestigious INSPIRE Faculty Award from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India (2016-present).
  • Awarded Junior & Senior Research Fellowship by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Govt. of India during the Ph.D. program at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (2008-2013).


  • Contribution: 25 articles have been published in international peer-reviewed journals
  • Interests: The research focus is emphasized to develop transition metal complexes as a model of the active site of metalloenzymes and use of those metal complexes in bioinspired catalyses such as selective functionalization of a particular chemical bond in an organic molecule. Selective functionalization of a chemical bond in a molecule with high yield is a major challenge in synthetic chemistry. In particular, the aim is to promote the catalytic cycle of dioxygen activation by iron(II) complexes using light and a photo-sensitizer.
