Staff of the Technical Support Unit (TSU) at UPES visited Vikasnagar block in Dehradun district to complement the Government of Uttarakhand's work on rice fortification. The project is run in collaboration with, and sponsored by, the UN World Food Programme.
The team explained the benefits of eating fortified rice to Anganwadi workers, government school staff, fair price shop owners, families who receive rice in the village and officials who distribute grain in the area, and answered the questions and concerns they raised.
