The entire experience was very enriching and memorable and full of learning. Experience: Being with UPES has not just enriched my domain knowledge, but also helped me inculcate the very essence of professionalism. I found my curriculum was designed with utmost care to provide an overall experience of being a manager with an add-on core understanding.  The two years spent at UPES have been full of fun and masti amidst all the learning. Something I would treasure always, and forever!

Internship is always considered a stepping stone to the corporate world. It was during my internship that I learnt to apply the concepts and theories and in turn, obtain results. I got a taste of how it feels to be a part of a big organization, hence a sense of responsibility. My internship experience, played an important role in driving my career profile. A week long Industrial tour was a combination of learning and fun. We visited refinery & LNG terminals and witnessed the work environment. Apart from all the hard work we managed to tour the city and have a fun filled evening. UPES is, undoubtedly the answer for all those looking for a promising career in Energy & other Core sectors.

Experience:My experience at internship was unforgettable. After submitting my report in a draft to the Chief Manager of CONCOR, he was so impressed that when I asked a doubt about the anti-pilferage device, he personally took me to the rail line and physically showed me the device on the container train. He sat for 2 hours and read my project and discussed it with me. It was a great experience.

    • Batch : 2012-2014

Experience : I quit a well paid and prospective job in a PSU to pursue my MBA(Oil & Gas). To this day people look at me and wonder why would this chap want to quit something that others can only dream about. To me the risk was worth taking. In terms of education the curriculum covered everything I had expected and more. Faculties gave a comprehensive and structured discussion of their subjects. With numerous opportunities for Research Paper publications and other extra-curricular activities, I wonder how 2 years have almost gone by. I am a more learned person today with my stay at UPES, thanks to the Gurus', friends, support staff. I am a well-rounded person today, albeit slightly thanks to UPES. I shouldn't forget to mention the pristine conditions the campus is nestled in with clouds wafting in through the hostel windows and the open expanse to stare at blankly in your spare time. You have a massive cricket/football ground to stretch your legs at each evening or bounce around in the volleyball or basketball court. An opportunity to visit IIM-Bangalore,  to present research paper on Carbon Dioxide Sequestration opportunities in Indian Upstream Industry. I'm working on a Dissertation topic to analyze prospects of Synthetic Lubricants in S. India. Synthetic Lubes are the lubricants of the future and we need to understand its impact on India's base oil industry, automotive and industrial usage implication. The benefits and drawbacks. My internship with GE(Oil & Gas) gave me whole new perspective into how corporate/industry works. I gained access to resources previously unavailable. It was a worthwhile experience to actually see implications of Six Sigma culture and be a part of it. Cost analysis, SWOT, Porter's 5 forces and other econometric model implementations to analyze the prospects of a business and how to utilize a resource best functionally. The 6-day tour of a Refinery, LNG Terminal & an onshore gas processing plant gave us a 1st hand experience about the critical nature of Oil & Gas operations. Interactions with Industry professionals helped us understand the business better. A comprehensive tour bought us outside the world of text books and other education materials while giving us a thrilling experience of the O&G Industry. The global nature of O&G Industry, Vertical Integration were few of the multiple facets of learning taken away from the Industrial Tour.

    • Batch: 2012-2014

Experience: I chose to study MBA at UPES because of the  good acacemic  reputation the university and the Port & Shipping department have for teaching and nurturing young managers, but most importantly because of the great atmosphere and welcome I received at Campus.
All the lecturers are very friendly, helpful and most importantly, approachable. What really attracted me to this course was the sector oriented course curriculum. This provided me with vital hands on experience in maritime environment and definitely helped me gain good position. UPES also has a great social life and being in the foot hills of Himalayas, there are so many places to go and things to do when you need a break from studying!
The most valuable experience that I gained in my time during the MBA program was building relationships with my classmates. These relationships have given me a foundation of friends and colleagues that will boost my career and my personal life for years to come.
The MBA program enabled me to tailor projects for most courses to learn more about the specific industry in which I am employed. The varied professional and educational backgrounds of fellow cohort students made for lively, enriching discussions of real-world case studies. The resulting contacts and friendships are invaluable.
I always had a long-term goal to attain a master’s degree. The UPES MBA program allowed me to achieve my goal, while maintaining my career and family life. It required commitment, but was doable."
