B.Tech Electronics Engineering with Specilization in Broadband Communication Technology

With the growing pace of communication and globalization, sources of data communication have been growing in all the sectors. Now a days, one of the fastest growing spot in the stream of communication is the Wireless and Mobile Technology. The Mobile Phone Companies whether GSM or CDMA, are providing lucrative services at affordable prices to the consumers. The mobile phone companies are doing lot of research in enhancing their services to attract new customers. According to one news report, India is one of the World’s fastest growing mobile phone and Internet markets.

The Digital India programme is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The core of this programme is the broadband communication link and service.A broadband technician installs, maintains and repairs telecommunication systems, including cable television, broadband Internet and telephone services. They frequently perform these services on-site at homes or businesses. Although the formal education requirements can be minimal, those with limited knowledge, training or expertise could face fierce competition. A degree in EE with specialization in Broadband communication technology or a relevant field could be beneficial as is training and certification from a professional organization for telecommunications installers.

The job opportunities in this stream are not restricted to the manufacturing, repair, maintenance of mobile handsets but also lot of other career options are available.

Duration: 4 years

eligibility

Examination Pathway admissions through UPESEAT (Upto 80% of Seats) :

  • Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)
  • Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th)

Non Examination Pathway – admissions through Board Merit / JEE & Mains Score (Upto 20% of Seats) :

  • For Board Merit : Minimum 80% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 80% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class)
  • For JEE Mains Merit : Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class). JEE Mains;(cut off to be announced after declaration of JEE Mains-2018 result)
