B.Tech MECH - Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO-1: Graduates will have the scientific and technical knowledge to have successful career in auto and allied industries.
  • PEO-2: Graduates will have competency to analyze challenges and advancements in the focus areas of power train, drive train, stability and safety aspects of vehicle engineering.
  • PEO-3: Graduates will be motivated and confident to pursue advanced education, research and development and other creative efforts in automotive engineering and allied areas.
  • PEO-4: Graduates will have higher order thinking and leadership skills to become technology leaders of tomorrow.

Program Outcomes (POs)

  • PO1: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO3: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO6: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Automotive Design Engineering Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs): B.Tech ADE

  • PSO1: An ability to evaluate thermal performance of IC engines under different fuel modes.
  • PSO2: An ability to investigate the trouble shooting of automotive systems.
  • PSO3: An ability to design and develop automotive systems using modern tools.

Team Hawks wins Efficycle 2015


Team HAWKS 2.0 comprising of ten B.Tech. Automotive Design Engineering & Mechanical 3rd year students represented our college at event Efficycle 2015 organised by SAENIS in partnership with MARUTI SUZUKI INDIA LIMITED & ICAT at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar. The team secured an ALL INDIA RANK 4 out of 196 teams which participated from all over the country. They also secured first prize in the LIGHT WEIGHT CATEGORY and also the first prize in BEST INNOVATION category.


RISE 2016

RISE 2016 University of Petroleum & Energy Studies held 26th November 2016 The event was an initiative of UPES to boost the morale of students towards research field. Research funds have been provided by the University and best projects were awarded after the competition. Pranay Mittal and Raghav Budhiraja of ADE 3rd year shown their project “Actuation of gear selector and clutch lever mechanism using DC motors controlled by programmable micro-controllers” and awarded as a best project




The event is aimed to bring out the innovative and creative potential of young automobile enthusiasts. Undergraduate students from different technical streams can participate in the event. The basic outline of event consists of designing and fabricating a go-kart and then competing with those go-karts in the final race. Organizing committee of NKRC is VIRTUALIS MOTORSPORTS. The Finals were held at RPM Circuit Indore, Team XLR8 from UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM AND ENERGY STUDIES won the “AUTOCROSS” Award which is provided to the vehicle which has the best maneuverability and secured all India 10th position.




The Indo Asian Solar Challenge (INDO-ASC), hosted by the Ashman Motors and Technology, seeks to promote and celebrate educational excellence and engineering creativity. Team IL10S from UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM AND ENERGY STUDIES Participated in this competition held in Lovely Professional University and secured 1st Position in light weight round.


BAJA 2017


BAJA 2017, Baja SAE is an intercollegiate design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Teams of students from universities all over the world design and build small off-road cars. The cars all have engines of the same specifications. As of 2014 the engine has been an unmodified Briggs & Stratton Intek 20 single-cylinder with a displacement of 305cc and power output of approximately 10 bhp (7.5 kW).Team of 25 students of University of petroleum participated in that event and secured 1st Position in Sledge pull.


Hybrid Vehicle Challenge 2017


Hybrid Vehicle Challenge 2017, this event organised by ISEI, In 2017 it was held in Budhha International Circuit, Greater Noida, students of University of petroleum and energy studies participated in this event and secured AIR 6th and they also got 1st position for light weight vehicle round.
