E-Talks: MoJo and Digital Broadcasting
UPES School of Modern Media held a three-day online event for school students to familiarize them with evolving digital media practices. The event held between 17 to 19 May 2021, addressed various facets of digital journalism. Titled MoJo (Mobile Journalism) and Digital Broadcasting, the event witnessed eminent Journalists, faculty and content creators sharing their views on digital journalism. They also shared the skill-sets upcoming journalists and content creators would require in a fast-changing digital world.
The first session was an Introduction to MoJo (Mobile Journalism), addressed by Nalin Mehta, Dean UPES School of Modern Media and former Executive Editor of Times of India Online. He was accompanied by two other eminent panellists – Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Editor Digital Broadcast Times Internet and Mr. T.M Veeraraghav, Associate Professor UPES School of Modern Media and former Resident Editor Hindu, Bangalore.
It was followed by a session on YouTube Blogging and Editing Tools, which familiarized students on the nuances of video creation, vlogging and also taught them tips and tricks to create quality video content. The session was taken by Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Editor Digital Broadcast Times Internet and Anubha Bhonsle, Founder Newsworthy and former Executive Editor of CNN-IBN. Anubha, also is an Associate Professor of Media Practice, at the UPES School of Modern Media.
The last session held on 19 May, addressed the topic ‘Building a Digital Brand’. This exciting session was led by Karnika Kohli, Assistant Professor of Media Practice at UPES School of Modern Media and Audience Editor ScrollStack; and Anshika Arora Assistant Professor UPES School of Modern Media.
