IGNITE is a national annual techno legal management design festival of UPES. The 9th edition of the IGNITE festival featured competitions and events held across two campuses of UPES. It revolved around the idea of going back to the memory lane and catching a sight of what we have achieved and inculcating the ability to go beyond the realm and take the risks. Ignite’20 represented the entrepreneurial mind-sets of thinking big and achieving even bigger. Cash Prizes worth Rs. 210,000 along with trophies were awarded.


The first day of ignite was all about enthusiasm and exuberance. There were many individual as well as teams participating from UPES and other colleges from Dehradun - IMS, Graphic Era, Siddharth law college, Tula College, DU, Jamia Islamia College and other local colleges. There were around 550 plus internal participants and 100 plus external participants. Twelve events were conducted on day 1 along with cultural night which consisted of Mr. & Miss Ignite, Dance battle and talent hunt. The events held were Compatibility Booth, Conventional Debate, Rangoli Competition, Propose Your Law, Legal Eagle, Be Unstoppable, Ecolawgical, Law Pro 2.0, Live The Law 3.0, The Evolution Portrait, Abhivyakti 5.0, and Visionary Lawyer 5.0.  


Day -Two events included Bollywood Vagenza, Meme Making Competition, You! Amend your Constitution, Lex Tok, Constitutional Quiz, fastest finger first, #trending.  


The valedictory ceremony of Ignite’20 was held on 15th February. It started with an introduction speech by Dean of School of Law, Dr. V.K. Singh. He welcomed the chief guest of the event, Dr. Alka Sharma, IDAS, presently Principal Controller of Defence Accounts of Indian Air force with headquarters in Dehradun. She was registrar of Delhi University for three years on central deputation when Prof. Dinesh Singh was Vice Chancellor there.

She congratulated the student body for organising the hugely successful event. Faculty coordinator and Event coordinators were felicitated for their cooperation in making Ignite’20 a success.
