Orientation Program for International Virtual Projects
In the wake of the current challenge and limited mobility, UPES provided the Virtual research project opportunities to the partner University students under the mentorship of our seasoned professors. After getting a huge number of applications for the same, mentors selected 11 international students for their projects. To welcome and congratulate the selected students, the Department of International Affairs, UPES organized a virtual orientation program on 5th November 2020 where the Vice-chancellor & Registrar of UPES welcomed all selected students. And Head of Department of International Affairs, Dr, Sheetal Khanka presented an overview of UPES along with a welcome note for new researchers.
Dr. Sunil Rai - Vice-chancellor, UPES said “It is my privilege & honor to welcome all students from different countries for our virtual research & projects program. UPES is truly a multi-disciplinary university, all the attendees will not only be getting exposed to their area of interest but also various other inter-disciplinary areas; which is why I want to welcome all the selected students. Please feel free to interact and in-fact I encourage you to interact with other students and faculties. In UPES, we provide you a lot of opportunities for excellent primary data analysis, and also as a bonus, you will get glimpses of our culture & values. Welcome again to UPES, and I wish you a very happy time & May GOD bless you with your research project and future endeavors.”
Dr. Veena Dutta – Registrar, UPES also welcomed students, with “I am glad to welcome you all in virtual research and project in UPES. Please feel free to contact all UPES students with specialization in similar projects and faculties and mentors are always there to guide you. Take the project ahead and this can be your further research in your home university or you are welcome to UPES to continue the research further. Hoping you will be having a great learning experience and time and do feel free to use resources like labs and library for your project.”
Furthermore, Dr. Sheetal Khanka presented a UPES information presentation for students and welcomed international students. She mentioned that international students bring positive energy along with them and this makes UPES strong. She also asked students about their hobbies and shared a few good moments with new students which made everyone smile and comfortable during the session. Mentors of different projects were also present in the meeting and described how the project can help students for their goals. Dr. Gurunadh Velidi - Coordinator DIA, SOE also interacted with students about their projects. Mr. Charanpal Singh – Sr. Executive, International Affairs, and Ms. Hritishika Bohra also attended the session.
