Work Experience

Before joining UPES, he was working as a visiting Professor at the King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. He earned his master's in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh, India, and his doctorate from the Department of Applied Physics, AMU, Aligarh. After completing his PhD, he worked as a fellow of the Korean Research Foundation (KRF) from February 2008 to March 2009 and as a research professor under the Brain Pool Program of the South Korean Federation of Science and Technology from April 2009 to January 2012 at Changwon National University, South Korea. In February 2012, he joined the Beamline Division, Pohang Light Source II, as a research scientist until April 2013. From December 2013 to July 2015, he worked as a research professor at Changwon National University, Changwon, Gyeongnam, 641-773, Republic of Korea. He also worked as a visiting Professor at the Departamento de Física, CCET, Universidade Federal do Maranhão, São Luis -65085-580, MA, Brazil, from December 2015 to June 2016. Furthermore, he also served as an assistant professor at the Department of Applied Physics, Amity University Haryana, Gurgaon, from August 29, 2016 to November 1, 2019.

Research Interests

Dr. Kumar's research interest is focused on experimental studies of functional oxide materials such as ferrites, CMR, lead-free piezoelectrics, multiferroics, and DMS in various forms such as bulk, thin films, and 1-D nanostructures, as well as nanostructures for energy storage (Li-ion, Li-S batteries, and supercapacitors) applications and solar cells.
