Dr. Harshit Mohan is a young and dynamic entrepreneur & researcher who stands to empower the young pioneers to push the world forward through entrepreneurship and innovation. He did his graduation in Electrical Engineering from AMU in 2014 and the master’s and doctoral degree from IIT Roorkee in the year 2017 and 2022 respectively. He is the recipient of DST Nidhi Prayas 2021 scheme with a product development funding of INR 1 million. He has authored more than 30 articles in reputed journals, conferences & book chapters, and holds two Indian patents.

Work Experience

Before joining UPES, Dr. Harshit Mohan was pursuing his doctoral degree at the IIT Roorkee. He has also founded a startup (HMV Drives Pvt Ltd) incubated at TIDES, IIT Roorkee.

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Harshit teaching philosophy is much more than just delivering knowledge in a convenient format to the students. One of his most important functions is to help students, how to effectively solve problems, and how to judge the long-range impact of their solutions and recommendations on society. He endeavours to make students active participants in their education by making his classroom lectures in real-world experiences. Moreover, he associates the software-based leaning using MATLAB and other software’s in both theoretical and laboratory subjects.

Courses Taught

Dr. Harshit Mohan teaches the electrical machines, electrical drives, power electronics, microprocessor, PLC & SCADA, MATLAB, Simulink, UAVs, and EVs.

Awards and Grants

Dr. Harshit Mohan is the recipient of DST Nidhi Prayas 2021 scheme conducted by TIDES IIT Roorkee, with a product development grant of INR 1 million. He has received the certificate of appreciation from National Water Development Agency, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and from THDC India Limited, Ministry of Power, Government of India for the project PAANI Drives on Smart Variable Frequency Drive used in Irrigation. He is the recipient of various travel grants from IEEE IAS, UPES and IIT Roorkee for attending different conferences and events in India.

Scholarly Activities

Dr. Harshit has authored more than 30 articles in reputed journals, conferences & book chapters, and holds two Indian patents. He is the academic reviewer for various national and international journals and conferences, where he has reviewed more than 50 articles. His articles have also been awarded as “Best Paper Award” in different conferences. He is associated with IEEE and various societies as member.
