Professor Alka believes that education should be student-centric. She focuses more on experiential learning through observation. Students are provided with learning resource cases prior to coming to the class. The class time thus gets effectively used for learning activities. The discussions are led by the instructor, but the aim is to create an environment in the class wherein every student feels free to question, respond, share experiences, participate, and thus learn in the process. She also involves the students in field work and projects which further adds to their learning.
Professor Alka teaches Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management and other related courses like Managing Individuals and Organizations, Management Principles and Organizational Behaviour, Leading in a Dynamic Era, Strategic Human Resource Management and electives like Managing Teams, Performance Management Systems and HR Analytics.
