Sugandha Sharma

He holds an MCA degree and is currently enrolled in a dual-degree program (M.Tech and Ph.D.) in Information Technology, specializing in Software Engineering, at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. His thesis, titled "Natural Language Processing for Low-Resource Languages," focuses on advancing NLP techniques for underrepresented languages. 

Before joining UPES, he was a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad.

His research interests are NLP, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, LLMs.

His teaching philosophy emphasizes inclusivity, engagement, and fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. He prioritizes active learning, collaboration, and real-world applications, integrating innovative strategies and technology. Committed to diversity and equity, he aims to equip students with skills and mindsets for success in a dynamic world. Viewing teaching as a collaborative, evolving process, he values feedback and reflection to support continuous learning.

1. Institute Fellowship, MoE, Government of India, as a PhD research scholar in Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (2019-2023).  

2. M.Tech MHRD GATE Fellowship as a Master student in Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (2017-2019). 

He has actively contributed to organizing conferences and workshops, showcasing his commitment to academic collaboration and knowledge dissemination. In 2024, he served as a committee member for the 1st Workshop on the Science of Happiness. He was an international committee member for the 14th International Conference on Intelligent Human-Computer Interaction (IHCI) in 2022 and a core committee member for the 11th IHCI in 2019. Additionally, he contributed as a committee member for the 10th IHCI in 2018. His involvement in these events highlights his dedication to fostering innovation and dialogue within the academic and research communities.
