Suvojit Dhara

Mr. Suvojit Dhara is a passionate researcher specializing in Data Science and data-driven multi-criteria decision-making. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics from the prestigious Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and both M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where he was the top student in his master's program. Mr. Dhara has authored numerous book chapters and research articles in esteemed journals, including those published by Elsevier, Springer Nature, and Taylor & Francis, etc.

Before joining UPES, he was pursuing his Ph.D. in Data Science in the Department of Mathematics at IIT Kharagpur, focusing on Data-driven Multi-Criteria Decision-making.

Mr. Dhara’s teaching philosophy is centered around fostering a deep understanding of core concepts while encouraging critical thinking and practical application. He believes in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their ideas. By integrating real-world examples and hands-on activities into the curriculum, he aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for successful careers in their respective fields. Additionally, he is committed to continuous learning and improvement, both for himself and his students, to adapt to the evolving educational landscape and to inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Before coming to UPES, as a part of his Ph.D. program, Mr. Dhara has been involved in teaching various courses, such as  

• Time Series and Regression
• Statistical Techniques and Computer Programming
• Engineering Mathematics
• Data Structure and Algorithm
• Object Oriented Programming  

As a faculty in the School of Computer Science, UPES Dehradun, he plans to teach the following courses: 

• Java Programming 
• Problem Solving  
• Database Management Systems 
• Python Programming, etc. 

Mr. Suvojit Dhara received prestigious Prime Minister Research Fellowship during his Ph.D. programme. Also, he received Institute Silver Medal for securing top position in his masters in Mathematics from the reputed Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Mr. Dhara has published one book chapter on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Students’ Performance Assessment in CRC Press, Taylor & Francis. He has published two research articles on Data-driven Multi-Attribute Decision-making Methods in reputed journals like Elsevier, Springer Nature and has two articles under review in reputed journals.
