Profile Summary
Mohit is an educator and practicing clinical psychologist. He completed his clinical training at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), a premier mental health institute of national importance. During his MPhil training he learnt the art and science of psychotherapy. He feels privileged to be working with people with chronic and severe mental health conditions. He went ahead to do his PhD from the Dept. of Clinical Psychology, NIMHANS, to study patients with Parkinson’s disease and how various aspects of neuropsychological deficits affect their quality of life.
Work Experience
Mohit feels blessed to be an inhabitant of both worlds of clinical practice and teaching. He has worked as a clinical psychologist in hospital settings as well as a visiting assistant professor of psychology at Krea University. He continues to be a practitioner who uses his clinical insights and experience teaching courses in counselling psychology.

Teaching Philosophy
Mohit's teaching approaches are grounded in helping students to think and speak both languages of mind and brain; for a successful psychologist, they must be well versed in both these approaches. He uses strong theoretical foundations and shows illustratively how these concepts are used in clinical and research settings.
Courses Taught
Mohit teaches psychopathology and psychological disorders, counselling and psychotherapy, and theories of personality. He uses his decade of clinical experience and insights from the “therapy room” to the “classroom.”. He uses humanistic and psychodynamic approaches to understand the realm of mental health. He deeply believes the nature of psychotherapy is to deepen the relationship between therapist and the patient.
Awards and Grants
Mohit is a registered clinical psychologist with the Rehabilitation Council of India, Govt. of India. He received higher education grants for MPhil and PhD as a UGC-JRF scholar and research associate with DST-SERB-funded projects at NIMHANS, Bengaluru.
Scholarly Activities
Mohit has been part of a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals and neuroscientists. His research work with the neurosurgery and neurology conditions has been published in Scopus-indexed journals such as Behavioural brain research, Neurology India among others.
