Dr. T. Bangar Raju

Professor T Bangar Raju is a passionate expert in the domain of transportation management. The research focus includes time series analysis, modelling, and dynamic pricing in the areas of shipping, aviation, and energy trade. The research addresses the issues of volatility, spillovers, and risks associated with various transportation and trade markets. He believes in understanding data, attributes, and digital innovation as a tool to solve various problems.

He has more than two decades of experience combined with academia and industry. Prior to joining UPES, Dr T Bangar Raju worked with corporates like Adani Enterprises and JSW in international trade and transportation.

International Trade, Energy Pricing, Shipping Markets and Prices, Aviation Markets and Prices, Multimodal Transport.

Dr T Bangar Raju’s teaching philosophy is based on the belief that students need critical and creative thinking than just knowledge. Creative thinking skills are needed to tackle and survive in the future corporate world. These could be inculcated through understanding and analysing concepts which are taught through various perspectives in classroom.

Dr T Bangar Raju teaches dynamic pricing, airline revenue management, operations management and multimodal transport. He has also taught shipping management, container business, liner shipping and international business.

Dr T Bangar Raju has won the maritime excellence award, apart from various best research paper awards. Currently, under his mentorship, ICSSR has awarded post-doctoral fellowship on the topic ‘Social equity through regional connectivity’.
