Abhishek Sinha was an Equity Partner with the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Team at Khaitan & Co, Mumbai and a Partner with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai. Abhishek is a dual qualified (England & Wales and India) corporate lawyer with a post-qualification experience of more than 16 years. He started his career at a leading law firm in Mumbai (DSK Legal) and later joined the Mumbai office of AZB & Partners. He has also worked as an ‘International Visiting Attorney’ at Morrison & Foerster, Tokyo.

Abhishek has been leading transactions involving corporate and commercial laws. He has wide-ranging experience in advising on private equity matters, as well as structures requiring India entry strategies. He has been involved in various acquisition matters (both domestic and cross-border), and contract negotiations, and has regularly advised his clients on investment strategies, joint ventures, strategic alliances, regulatory compliances, exit options and general corporate matters.

Being academically inclined, Abhishek has been a visiting lecturer at KC Law College, Mumbai and GLC Securities Law Course, Mumbai. He has also spoken on various occasions at several law colleges, academic institutes, big corporate offices, big-4 accounting firms and top law firms. He has also handled various academic assignments, including ILS Law College, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, NALSAR, Nirmal Law College, NLU Mumbai, etc.

In late 2019, with the vision to bridge the gap between academia and industry, he resigned from his equity partnership at Khaitan & Co and founded NotJustLex, a platform to train young legal professionals and law students with the unique construct of participatory learning. This government-recognised startup has been awarded several national and international awards, for innovation in the legal education field.
