Jaya Bhattacharji Rose

Jaya Bhattacharji Rose is an international literary publishing consultant with over 25 years of experience as an editor, publisher and content expert. She is the founder of India’s most popular blog on the publishing industry and literature and former Editorial Manager South Asia, Routledge (Taylor and Francis) where she oversaw editorial production of over 1000 journals. She has previously been Commissioning Editor and Marketing, Promotions and Publicity Director, Zubaan: Kali for Women.

Jaya has been an expert consultant on publishing with Scholastic India, Puffin Books, Livre Book (Canada), UNDP, WTO, CEQUIN and FICCI (for Publicon). She also served as a Member on the Program Advisory Committee Master of Writing and Publishing programme, RMIT University, Melbourne. She has been jury member for Crossword Book Awards, Scholastic Writing Awards and mentored the Jaipur Lit Fest team of bloggers in 2019.

As international recognition for her work in publishing, Jaya was invited for Livre Paris 2020 by the French Institute of India and the Government of France as well as the Australia Council for the Arts for its Visiting International Publishers Delegation 2019. She is also co-founder ACE Literary Consulting which represents some of India’s leading authors. She writes a column for Times of India, Bibliobibuli, on the business of publishing and books.

Jaya has an MA, English Literature, St Stephen’s College; BA (Hons), English Literature, Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi; and qualified as Lecturer in the UGC National Eligibility Test.
