It emphasizes technological advancements, efficient resource use, and infrastructure development to support economic growth. Goal 9 aims to bridge the digital divide, enhance connectivity, and ensure sustainable industrial practices for a resilient and inclusive future.

• UPES conducted workshops on value-added product development with bamboo, and research projects on the development of novel and sustainable products from textile waste generated in garment industry, electric amphibious vehicle for nature parks, strategy to use waste wood for creating plastic and chemical-free toys, to name a few.
• Collaboration with Industry giants like IBM, NASSCOM, Zeon Life Sciences, Microsoft, KPMG, NSE, Coursera, L&T, Cisco and many more.

• Learnshaala and Lakhon Khwahishen: Projects under UPES's CSR initiatives focus on community development, environmental conservation, and education for underprivileged children. Learnshaala involves building learning centers in government primary schools, and Lakhon Khwahishen aims to eliminate period poverty by supporting sustainable development initiatives.
• Integrated Wastewater Reclamation Plant: UPES engages in a pilot-scale project for an integrated wastewater reclamation plant, utilizing microalgae to treat sewage water. This innovative project produces byproducts such as bio-oil, bio-gas, and bio-manure, aligning with sustainable industrial practices and efficient resource use.
• RUNWAY: UPES provides a platform, RUNWAY, supporting student entrepreneurship. This initiative fosters innovation by offering mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities for students aspiring to turn their ideas into viable businesses.
• The School of Engineering's Sustainability Cluster at UPES organized the 'Sustainability Fair 2022,' scheduled from October 11 to 14, themed 'Safe, Resilient, and Sustainable Cities & Communities.' Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh inaugurated the event, commending UPES's educational contributions. Dr. Sunil Rai emphasized the fair's goal of showcasing research on sustainability, fostering cost-effective solutions, and facilitating industry-academia collaboration. The four-day summit includes training sessions, model competitions, exhibitions, panel discussions, and international symposiums, drawing participants from various sectors and countries. Funding and support come from partners like Punjab National Bank and DST-SERB.
