Dr. Sanjiv Singh

Dr. Sanjiv Singh is a dedicated researcher and educator specializing in statistical applications to public health and demographic studies. His expertise spans family planning, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and demographic analysis, with a focus on data-driven policy solutions. Dr. Singh’s scholarly contributions include impactful research on unintended pregnancies, contraceptive use, and healthcare quality, few published, and a few are in revision prestigious journals. He has presented his work at international conference including the Population Association of Singapore in National University of Singapore and his works has also been selected at prestigious forums like Populations Association American (USA), Asian population association (APA). With a PhD in Statistics from Banaras Hindu University, Dr. Singh combines rigorous academic training with a deep commitment to societal impact. Currently, as an Assistant Professor at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, he teaches quantitative methods, research methodology, and data modelling, empowering students with practical and analytical skills.

He has worked with the Population Council for six months and received an international travel grant to attend the Population Association of Singapore conference in 2024. Dr. Singh serves as an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the UPES, Dehradun. His professional journey includes research in public health, with active contributions to maternal healthcare, reproductive health, and demographic trends. He has held roles as a statistical analyst and presented research at global conferences. Dr. Singh’s dedication to research and teaching ensures a blend of academic rigor and practical application in his work.

By using authentic case studies and data-driven tasks, hands on experience he empowers students to transition from theoretical understanding to practical expertise, ensuring learning aligns with industry and research demands. 

Dr. Singh teaches Quantitative Techniques for Managers, Spreadsheet Modelling, Business intelligence, Research Methodology and Report Writing at the School of Business, Business research methodology UPES (Dehradun). His courses emphasize practical applications of statistics and analytics in solving real-world problems, preparing students for diverse careers in business, research, and public policy.

Dr. Singh has been recognized for his research excellence, including selection for prestigious conferences such as the Asian Population Association and international forums in the USA. His research on demographic analysis and healthcare outcomes has garnered institutional support, and his teaching excellence is evident in his impactful student mentoring.

Dr. Singh’s research focuses on understanding public health disparities and improving healthcare delivery through statistical modelling. He has contributed to collaborative projects on maternal healthcare continuity, contraceptive use, and delivery choices in India, advancing evidence-based policy recommendations. His work has been published in journals like the Indian Journal of Population and Development. He actively disseminates knowledge through conference presentations, workshops, and collaborative initiatives. Dr. Singh’s scholarly pursuits aim to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world applications, fostering innovation and social impact.
