Vishal Dahiya is a distinguished media professional with over two decades of experience spanning broadcast journalism, digital content strategy, and media production. He has served in key editorial and leadership roles across India's leading news platforms including Sansad TV, Rajya Sabha TV, NewsX, and DD News. He has led multilingual content teams and developed strategic content frameworks across diverse verticals. Vishal is known for anchoring prime-time debates, conducting high-profile interviews, and covering major national events such as general elections and parliamentary sessions.
His editorial expertise is complemented by hands-on experience in digital transformation, including spearheading digital outreach and audience engagement initiatives. An accomplished bilingual anchor in English and Hindi, he brings a nuanced understanding of political, economic, strategic, geopolitical, policy and governance related discourse. An alumnus of IIMC with a postgraduate diploma in Radio and TV Journalism, he also holds an M.A. in Mass Communication. Vishal regularly moderates national seminars and contributes as an expert on public policy and international affairs across national Radio, TV and digital media. He has also been actively engaged in mentoring through workshops and seminars on content creation and digital strategy.
Work Experience
Vishal Dahiya brings over 20 years of dynamic media experience in television news, digital content, and multimedia strategy. As Editor and Head of Digital Content at Sansad TV, he was instrumental in expanding the channel’s digital footprint. He has served in senior roles at Rajya Sabha TV, NewsX and DD News where he conceptualised and produced flagship shows and led coverage of parliamentary proceedings and general elections.
As a bilingual anchor he has helmed high impact prime-time debate shows on national television, covering a wide spectrum of topics including governance, politics, economy, security and international affairs. Vishal’s leadership, storytelling, anchoring and editorial judgment are hallmarks of his distinguished professional journey.
Research Interests
Vishal’s research interests include evolution of public discourse in digital spaces, media’s role in democratic engagement, convergence of traditional broadcasting with emerging platforms, political communication, digital storytelling strategies and the future of public service broadcasting.
Teaching Philosophy
Vishal emphasises on making classroom instruction dynamic and relevant by drawing on two decades of experience in the media industry. He aims to nurture critical thinking, creativity, and ethical responsibility through interactive learning, industry case studies, and collaborative projects. Vishal encourages students to engage deeply with current affairs and digital innovation to prepare them for the evolving media ecosystem.
