Nikhil Singh

Nikhil Singh is an academician and researcher in the field of Computer Science with a background in defence technologies, where he began his career as a Junior AI Scientist. He is passionate about multidisciplinary research integrating Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Affective Computing.

His research on multimodal expression detection has been published in reputed journals including Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, as well as publications from IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer.

His academic interests focus on designing intelligent systems that understand human behaviour, emotion, and communication patterns, with teaching interests in Machine Learning, Data Science, Image Processing, and Pattern Recognition.

Before joining UPES, Nikhil Singh accumulated over five years of experience in research and development across industry and academia.

He has worked on intelligent chatbots, defence technologies, audience measurement systems using people meters, and Generative AI-based platforms. He was also a founding member of Neural Edge Pvt. Ltd., formerly known as Synlex Technologies.

Nikhil believes that conceptual clarity forms the foundation of effective learning. He creates an engaging and collaborative classroom where students connect core AI and Machine Learning concepts with real-world applications.

Through case discussions, hands-on problem solving, and open dialogue, he encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and innovation, aiming to develop learners capable of applying AI-driven solutions to meaningful challenges.

Nikhil Singh is actively engaged in research across Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Biomedical Image Processing. He has published in SCI, ESCI, SCIE, and Scopus-indexed journals from publishers including IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier.

He has also served as a reviewer for IEEE and Springer conferences. His work reflects a strong commitment to advancing intelligent systems, multimodal learning, and applied AI research.
