Omar Rafique

Dr. Omar Rafique is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at UPES and an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with applications in biomedical and health data science.

He has received advanced research training at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he worked on large-scale biomedical datasets and developed computational frameworks for modelling complex disease processes.

His work focuses on building interpretable, robust, and clinically meaningful AI systems, aiming to translate advanced computational methods into real-world healthcare impact.

Dr. Omar Rafique has served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Channing Division of Network Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, working at the intersection of computation, medicine, and systems biology.

He has also collaborated with the University of Florida on large-scale AI and foundation model development using advanced academic supercomputing infrastructure. He currently serves as Assistant Professor at UPES, contributing to research, teaching, and academic mentoring.
