Dr. Smriti Singh has completed her undergraduate program from National Law University Odisha, followed by a postgraduate degree from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru with specialisation in human rights. Her scholarly journey culminated with a PhD from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RML NLU), Lucknow.
In her teaching role, Dr. Singh is dedicated to nurturing students' analytical skills and fostering a comprehensive understanding of complex legal issues. Her involvement in curriculum development and academic mentorship highlights her commitment to shaping future legal professionals.
Work Experience
Before joining UPES, Dr. Smriti was a full time JRF Research Scholar at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow.

Dr. Smriti Singh’s teaching philosophy centres on fostering critical thinking and practical application of legal principles. She believes in creating an interactive and inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to engage deeply with legal theories and their real-world implications. By integrating case studies, current legal issues, and diverse perspectives, Dr. Singh aims to enhance students' analytical skills and prepare them for the complexities of legal practice. Her approach emphasizes student-centered learning, encouraging independent thought while providing guidance and support. Through this methodology, she strives to cultivate well-rounded, thoughtful legal professionals who are both knowledgeable and adaptable.
Courses Taught
Dr. Smriti is currently teaching Insurance Law and Banking and Negotiable Instruments.
Awards and Grants
Dr. Smriti was double gold-medallist in her undergraduate programme in National Law University Odisha. She has also won awards in various moot-court competitions during her undergraduate studies. She also cleared Junior Research Fellowship which is awarded by UGC.
Scholarly Activities
Smriti has participated in various National/International level seminars and conferences and hold publications in various journals of repute.
