IMMERSIVE ACADEMIC LEARNING

To ensure that learning continues for the Resilient Class of 2020, we have created a comprehensive framework called ‘Immersive Academic Learning Framework’.

IALF encompasses Induction, Pre-Semester Learning and Start of Semester (September onwards or it will vary for schools/disciplines as per UGC guidelines.)

It includes customised teaching and mutually exclusive learning plans/sessions so that no one misses learning at any stage.

PHASE 1

Induction

Here the fresh batch is required to complete their registration process online and that will open the world of UPES to them through MY UPES – a unique multi utility student portal with access to everything students need for their journey at UPES.

Amongst many other features on the portal, MyUPES will be single window for:

  • Virtual Classroom (This is the gateway for all online classes, including Pre-Semester Learning modules.
  • UPES student email account
  • Free access to 3900+ global courses on Coursera
  • Introduction to student clubs and registration access
  • Connecting with classmates
  • Meeting assigned mentor
  • Access to SAP portal for records on attendance, performance and other resources
  • Access to e-library and free 24X7 counselling helpline for emotional well-being

PHASE 2

Pre-Semester Learning

This 4-week program includes exciting online immersive workshops, inspiring masterclasses, exploratory projects, CEO Talks and personalized mentoring sessions as per students’ needs.

For the students of School of Design, there will be some interesting and engaging workshops on film-making, caricatures, upcycling waste and clay animation that will stimulate their creativity and thought process. There will be insights on recognising trends, exploring new story-telling tools and collaborating and coordinating across teams.

Similarly, for the students of School of Business, there is a line-up of some fun workshops on themes such as time management and personal branding, discussions with industry leaders, faculty and UPES alumni, besides the ‘Dil Se’ cultural extravaganza.

While each module has a specific objective, the intent is to sensitise the students to the world of creative practices, generate curiosity in them and make their learning process immersive, yet enjoyable.

PHASE 3

Semester Starts

The online classes shall begin from September and this will vary for schools and disciplines as per UGC guidelines.

Till the students are back on the campus, there will be online learning via virtual classroom, blended learning mode, virtual labs and exciting online engagement activities.

The university is committed to the safety of its students and staff and would ensure a campus as safe as home.
