The School of Law at UPES offers basic and specialized law courses in Corporate Law, Energy Specialization, Taxation Laws and Technical courses like Intellectual Property Rights and Cyber Law.

The objective at SOL is to produce competent and strong legal professionals for the future. Global corporations across the world need legal guidance for execution of various corporate affairs such as collaborations, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, technology transfers, patents & intellectual property rights, labor laws etc. and what makes SOL stand apart is the inclusion of techno-legal programs such as LLM with specialization in Energy Laws and several specialized programs including Computer Science & Engineering, LLB with specialization in Cyber Laws which is a field of prime importance in the future.

The college also offers integrated and specialized programs which are the first of their kind in the South Asian region. These include BA LLB with specialization in Energy Laws, BBA LLB (Hons) Corporate Law and B.Com., LLB (Hons) with specialization in Taxation Laws and B.Tech., LLB (Hons) Energy Technology with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights and B. Tech Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in Cyber Laws. All the programs of SOL are approved by the Bar Council of India.


SOL adopts a progressive teaching methodology wherein students are acquainted with law through theoretical sessions as well as practical learning within the in-house Moot Court.The college also invites experienced individuals from the legal domain for guest lectures and seminars thereby allowing the students to absorb knowledge that will help them become successful legal professionals.

The programs at SOL, enable students to develop strong legal acumen that would help them handle the complexities in legal matters of the entities they associate with and guide them through. The curriculum is a mix of general legal concepts and technical/ business aspects that have an impact on the judicial practices. The programs are designed by expert faculty with active participation from judicial experts.

WINNER of the 4th RMLNLU International Legal Essay Competition (RILEC), 2016.

Siddhant Sharma, a student of B.Tech., Energy Technology + LLB (Hons.) with specialization in Intellectual Property Rights, stood winner of the 4th RMLNLU International Legal Essay Competition (RILEC), 2016 by The Journal Committee of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (Organizing Committee). His essay titled "E-commerce in International Taxation: Issues and Challenges" has been selected by the judges as the best entry and bagged a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 and a Letter of Recommendation.


1st runners up award at the National Parliamentary Debate, Lloyd Law College, 2016, Greater Noida.

A team comprising of Mr. Pranav Choudhary [B.A. LL.B., 2012-17], Mr. Asheesh Agarwal and Mr. Aman Paliwal [B.B.A. LL.B., 2013-18] has bagged the 1st runners up award at the National Parliamentary Debate, Lloyd Law College, 2016, Greater Noida.


First Runner up Team in Harlal National Moot Court Competition,2016.

Priyanka Kumari (B.A., LL.B. (IV Semester), Vishwaraj Panwar (B.Com, LL.B. (IV Semester)) Chandra Mohan Mahawar (B.Com., LL.B. (IV Semester)) were declared as First Runner up Team in Harlal National Moot Court Competition,2016. It was hosted by Harlal School of Law, Noida. Eighteen teams participated in the competition and most of the teams comprised of mainly third and fourth year students from Universities like Indraprastha University, Delhi; AMU, Aligarh; Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
