Program details
The B.Com (Banking and Insurance) – In Knowledge Partnership with EY India (3+1)* is an undergraduate program that builds a strong foundation in commerce, banking, insurance, and financial services aligned with a highly regulated, technology-driven financial ecosystem. Structured as per NEP guidelines, students completing three years are awarded a B.Com degree, while those opting for the fourth year earn a B.Com (Hons.) degree.
Co-designed with EY India, the curriculum blends core commerce with specialised learning in banking operations, insurance management, risk and compliance, financial markets, accounting, taxation, and regulatory frameworks, with ~270 hours delivered by EY India faculty.
Students gain practical understanding of the Indian banking system, central banking, and monetary policy, along with insurance fundamentals such as underwriting and claims management. The program also introduces emerging areas such as digital banking, fintech, and insurtech, while strengthening professional skills in communication, data interpretation, ethical decision-making, and financial analysis.
*As per NEP guidelines, students completing 3 years will receive a B.Com degree, while those completing the 4th year will be awarded B.Com (Hons.).

Banking and insurance are being reshaped by digital transformation, fintech/insurtech adoption, tighter compliance requirements and a growing focus on financial inclusion. Graduates are prepared for roles across retail banking, insurance operations, risk and compliance, and customer-facing advisory functions.
Career pathways include Banking Officer, Relationship Manager, Insurance Executive, Operations Executive, Risk/Compliance Analyst and Financial Services Associate, with opportunities across public and private banks, life and general insurance, NBFCs, microfinance institutions, fintech firms and corporate finance teams. The program also provides a strong base for higher studies and certifications such as MBA, CA, CMA, CFA, actuarial pathways, and banking/insurance competitive examinations.

Eligibility
The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Com (Banking and Insurance) – In Knowledge Partnership with EY India (3+1)* program is as follows:
- Minimum 50% marks in Class X
- Minimum 50% marks in Class XII
Selection Criteria
The selection process for admission to the B.Com (Banking and Insurance) – In Knowledge Partnership with EY India (3+1)* program at UPES is based on the candidate’s performance in CUET-UG and/or a Personal Interview.
