About the Speaker

Ankur Choksi is the Co-Founder and Principal Architect of Studio Lotus, an internationally recognized multidisciplinary design practice established in 2002. The studio specializes in Master Planning, Architecture, and Interior Design, with a strong focus on conscious design that celebrates local resources, cultural influences, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Ankur leads large-scale hospitality, adaptive reuse, and residential projects while championing a design philosophy rooted in storytelling, regional context, traditional craftsmanship, and sustainable architecture. His work emphasizes adaptive reuse as a foundation for environmentally responsible design.

Education & Design Philosophy

Ankur graduated in Visual Communication from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. Before co-founding Studio Lotus, he worked extensively in graphic design, exhibition design, and museum design.

His work is inspired by storytelling, craftsmanship, local materials, sustainability, and technological innovation. Beyond architecture, he is passionate about music, visualization, woodworking, and sculpture.

Academic & Professional Engagements

Ankur actively contributes to academia as a guest lecturer, juror, and keynote speaker at leading institutions including NID Ahmedabad, CEPT University, MSU Baroda, MIT Pune, and NIFT Delhi.

He has also served as a panelist and juror at prestigious international forums such as the World Architecture Festival (WAF), AIA New York, FIND Global Summit Singapore, and several global architecture conferences.
