B.MLS - Course Overview

The UPES School of Health Sciences & Technology, in collaboration with industry partner Virohan, offers a four-year undergraduate program in Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS). 

The program is designed for students who aspire to build careers in diagnostic and laboratory science. It equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform laboratory diagnostics, operate advanced diagnostic equipment, analyse biological samples, and support clinicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. 

The curriculum combines 3 years of academic learning in smart classrooms with hands-on skill training, practical lab sessions, and 1 year of internships in diagnostic laboratories and hospitals. 

Graduates develop the technical expertise, analytical skills, and workplace readiness required to pursue careers in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, blood banks, research laboratories, public health organisations, and other healthcare institutions.

Specialisations

B.MLS prepares students for careers in diagnostic and laboratory science. The program helps students develop expertise in biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, haematology, immunology, molecular diagnostics, quality assurance, and laboratory operations.

Curriculum

The B.MLS curriculum is aligned with NCAHP standards. It provides students with a strong foundation in biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, haematology, immunology, molecular diagnostics, laboratory techniques, quality control, and the safe handling of laboratory equipment. 

With a strong focus on hands-on learning, and industry exposure, the B.MLS program at UPES prepares graduates to work confidently alongside doctors, pathologists, and healthcare teams in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and research centres.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 50% in 5 core subjects in 12th, with pass in each core subject (PCB mandatory). The candidate must have attained a minimum age of 17 years

  • For Jun-Jul 2026 intake – by 1st December 2026 
  • For Dec 26-Jan 27 intake – by 1st June 2027
