MBA (HM) - Course Overview

The UPES School of Business, in collaboration with industry partner Virohan, offers a two-year postgraduate program in Master of Business Administration (Healthcare Management) - MBA (HM).

India's healthtech sector is one of the fastest-growing in Asia and this program has been designed specifically around it. The MBA in Healthcare Management fills the gap of equipping students with healthcare domain expertise, and the general management skills that employers in digital health demand, and that are just as valued in general management roles across consulting and many other fields.

That growth translates directly into jobs: India's healthcare and pharma sector is projected to add 2–2.5 million new jobs by 2030, with management and hospital administration roles among the fastest-growing categories.

The curriculum blends 1 year of academic learning in smart classrooms with industry projects, expert-led sessions, and 1 year of internships with leading healthcare organisations.

Graduates develop the business acumen, leadership capabilities, and workplace readiness required to build successful careers across hospitals, healthcare companies, health-tech organisations, consulting firms, pharmaceutical companies, insurance providers, and other healthcare enterprises.

Why study Master of Business Administration (Healthcare Management) – MBA (HM) at the UPES School of Business?

India's healthcare sector is growing faster than its supply of trained leaders. Hospitals need people who understand both patient care and business, someone who can run a department, manage costs, or launch a new health-tech product. That's the gap this program is built to fill.

The MBA (Healthcare Management), offered in collaboration with industry partner Virohan, prepares graduates to step into these leadership roles. You'll learn directly from faculty and healthcare leaders who've run hospitals, built health-tech companies, and worked inside the industry you're entering.

The program covers what a healthcare leader actually needs to know: how hospitals and healthcare businesses operate, how to manage budgets and finances, how to market health services and products, how technology is reshaping patient care, and how to lead teams through change.

By the time you graduate, you're ready for roles across the full spectrum of healthcare – hospitals, healthcare companies, consulting firms, health-tech startups, and pharmaceutical companies. And with strong placement support behind you, you're not just prepared to enter the industry, you're prepared to lead it.
