Dr. Naveen Sivadasan

Principal Scientist, TCS Research

​Dr. Naveen Sivadasan is a distinguished Principal Scientist at TCS Research, where he leads the Life Sciences Research division. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science, specializing in algorithms, from the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken, Germany. ​

Throughout his career, Dr. Sivadasan has amassed diverse experience across various industries, including startups and industrial research laboratories. He has also contributed significantly to academia, serving as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Hyderabad from January 2010 to June 2015. Currently, he continues his association with the institute as an Adjunct Faculty member. ​

His research interests are broad, encompassing computational biology, applied algorithms, and machine learning for biological data analysis. Dr. Sivadasan has an impressive publication record, with notable works in areas such as online scheduling, randomized pursuit-evasion in graphs, and phenotype-driven gene prioritization for rare diseases using graph convolution on heterogeneous networks. ​

In addition to his research and teaching roles, Dr. Sivadasan actively contributes to the computing community. He serves as a mentor for the ACM India PhD Clinic, guiding doctoral candidates in areas like biological data analysis and computational biology.
