Prof. SS. Easwaran

SS.Easwaran, Microbiologist by training with overall experience of 30 years, is an Associate Vice President- Academics with Biocon Academy, Bangalore, where he is instrumental in need identification, development, and delivery of training courses. He is also the interface between the faculty, the students, and the industry- Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) at Biocon Group to unleash the application potential in the industry to enhance the employability of the students. He is the scientific liaison between Indian and Overseas academic institutions, industries, and Biocon Academy for collaborations and partnerships.

He was a General Manager for the Technology & Services vertical of BiOZEEN, and was responsible for the Biopharmaceutical Production Training, R&D, and Regulatory Services departments before joining Biocon Academy. He was Technology Manager at Merck Millipore, handling Bioprocess, Filtration –Purification-Chromatography, and Biomonitoring, where he published articles in journals in India and Europe and served as Scientific Contributor for the Journal Pharmaceutical Technology- Europe. His industry journey started for him with bioMerieux, which is a global leader in in vitro diagnostics and industrial microbiology applications. He started his career as a Lecturer in Industrial Microbiology in 1995 at Madurai Kamaraj University College, where he published technical articles in journals of national and international repute.

He has one patent to his credit and has authored in book, “Handbook of Research on Science Education and University Outreach as a Tool for Regional Development,” published by IGI Global in the USA.
