Professor Bhabatosh Das

Professor Bhabatosh Das is a molecular biologist at THSTI, specializing in antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He holds dual Master’s degrees in Life Sciences and Biotech Engineering, a PhD in Molecular Biology, and completed postdoctoral research in microbial genome dynamics. His lab uses metagenomics and microbial genome engineering to understand human microbiome diversity and functions, develop biotherapeutics and screening assays, and identify molecules that enhance antibiotic efficacy against MDR/XDR pathogens. He also pioneers bacteriophage-based therapies targeting A. baumannii, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, and E. coli. A leader in Human microbiome and AMR research, Prof. Das’s work is shaping next-generation therapeutics discovery and development.
