Prof. Ravi Vatrapu

Dr. Ravi Vatrapu is a distinguished Professor of Computational Social Science and the Loretta Rogers Research Chair in Digital Enterprise at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada. He also serves as the Director of the Centre for Digital Enterprise Analytics and Leadership (DEAL) at the same institution.

In addition to his current roles, Dr. Vatrapu is a Professor of Computational Social Science (on leave) at the Department of Digitalization, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. He holds visiting professorships at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam and GITAM Deemed to be University, both in India. Previously, he was the founding director of the Centre for Business Data Analytics at Copenhagen Business School and served as an adjunct professor of applied computing at Kristiania University College, Norway.
Dr. Vatrapu's research lies at the intersection of computer science and social science, focusing on Big Social Data Analytics, Geospatial Analysis, Sustainability Analytics, and Sports Analytics. His current work involves developing a novel set-theoretical approach to computational social science called Social Set Analytics (SSA). This approach conceptualizes digital interactions as social associations to identities, ideas, values, and aspirations, aiming to generate meaningful facts, actionable insights, and sustainable impacts for various stakeholders.
