Robert Lensink is Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business of Groningen University. His large repertoire of both theoretical and empirical work covering the entire region stretching from South America to the Far East makes him a truly global researcher duly acknowledged in his country by a royal decoration. He is also Professor of Finance and Development, Wageningen University, The Netherlands, Professor Extraordinary at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa, and a Resource Person for the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC).
His research areas cover micro and macroeconomics, finance, gender and political economy. He has published widely in the top economics journals and is a much sought after teacher and advisor. He has held visiting positions at various campuses all over the world.
