Prof. Manoj Dayal

Mr. Manoj Dayal is a professor of mass communication at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Haryana. He was the founder professor at Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa and one of the senior-most professors at the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya. Before his stint in academics, he worked as sub-editor at Hindustan Times.

Prof. Dayal was the founder and head of department (Journalism and Mass Communication) at the University of Allahabad. He has also worked as a regular faculty in three central universities and three state universities. Prof. Dayal was the coordinator of a major departmental project (SAP) under the University Grants Commission (UGC) for five years. He was nominated by UGC for Commonwealth Fellowship for the year 2001 and got placement invitation by the Centre for Mass Communication Research, the University of Leicester as a visiting fellow.

Prof. Dayal has been associated with many central and state government assignments including the Indian Civil Services Examinations for the past 16 years. He was honoured by ABP News Channel with the National Education Award of Best Professor in the year 2014. Prof. Dayal has so far supervised 25 Ph.D. and 20 M.Phil. scholars and has written and presented over 80 research papers. He has also uploaded 157 lectures for UG/PG students on his YouTube channel ‘Edifying Media’.

Prof. Dayal has authored books on Media Metrics in English and Media Research in Hindi (titled Media Shosh) published by Sage and Haryana Sahitya Akademi, Punchkula, respectively.
