On April 10, 2025, the School of Law, UPES proudly inaugurated India’s first AR/VR Legal Simulation Lab, ushering in a new era of immersive, experiential legal education. This pioneering initiative is set to transform how students engage with the law, offering realistic courtroom simulations, virtual litigation practice, and dynamic moot court environments using cutting-edge AR/VR technology.
The lab was inaugurated by Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Former Minister of Law & Justice, Government of India. The launch ceremony was graced by several eminent legal luminaries, further underlining the importance of innovation in legal pedagogy.

Idea and Objective
The AR/VR Legal Simulation Lab is a first-of-its-kind in India and among the few globally in legal academia. The lab is designed to enhance practical legal skills through immersive technologies—developing courtroom confidence, legal reasoning, soft skills, and real-time decision-making in simulated legal environments. This initiative is a step forward in UPES’s mission to provide future-ready, experiential legal education.
