Students from the School of Law, UPES participated in an immersive educational visit to Sudhowala Jail, Dehradun, gaining real-time exposure to the criminal justice and correctional system. The visit provided valuable insights into the prison environment, legal processes, and rehabilitation initiatives, encouraging a deeper understanding of justice and reform.

The students had the unique opportunity to interact with key legal and correctional authorities who shared their knowledge and experiences, adding depth to the academic perspective.

Idea and Objective

The visit was aimed at bridging theoretical legal education with on-ground understanding of the correctional system. Students were exposed to legal procedures within the prison environment, rehabilitation efforts, and the role of judicial and correctional officers in reforming lives. The initiative fosters awareness, empathy, and professional preparedness among future legal practitioners.
