VidhiUtsav is recognised as India's Largest Academic Law Fest and a flagship initiative of the School of Law, UPES. The fest is designed to test participants' critical thinking and advocacy skills while helping them apply legal theory to practical situations. This third edition is the most ambitious yet, featuring 13 flagship national and international competitions across diverse areas of law.

The three-day event brings together students, legal practitioners, policymakers, and academicians for intensive engagement with contemporary legal issues, competitive platforms, and experiential learning. Distinguished guests for the 2026 edition included retired Supreme Court Judge Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, who delivered a keynote on compassion as the foundation of law, and Justice Rajesh Tandon, Chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Law Commission.

UPES School of Law maintains academic partnerships with globally reputed institutions including Moritz School of Law (Ohio State University), Maurer School of Law (Indiana University), Nottingham Trent University, University of California Berkeley, University of York, and University of Law, London.

The primary goal of VidhiUtsav 2026 is to create a rigorous platform where the next generation of legal professionals engage in academic discourse that bridges theory and practice. The fest fosters discussion on cutting-edge domains including International Humanitarian Law, AI and legal frameworks, constitutional evolution, corporate negotiations, and access to justice.

Through 13 competitions spanning moot court, mediation, negotiation, client counselling, youth parliament, policy drafting, sports law, animal law, and pro bono services, VidhiUtsav equips participants with the advocacy skills, research discipline, and professional networks needed to excel in an evolving legal landscape. Collaboration between law, technology, and policy remains central to every competition and session.
