World Pharmacists Day 2020: Transforming Global Health

The theme emphasizes on the contribution of pharmacists in providing safe, effective, quality, affordable medicines and health technology.

World Pharmacists Day, observed on September 25 every year, is an opportunity to communicate how pharmacists are contributing to a variety of health services in their communities, advising people on healthy living, vaccinating to prevent disease, and ensuring that medicines are taken correctly, thereby limiting the disease burden and improving the overall quality of life. The theme for this year is “Transforming Global Health”.

This year is particularly significant as the world faces the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pharmacists all over the globe are working tirelessly to stop the spread of the coronavirus and to ensure that people continue to have access to medicines they need.

School of Health Sciences, UPES, Dehradun, is organising an online one-day event to commemorate World Pharmacists Day.  The event will highlight the need for qualified and competent pharmacists to meet the growing needs of the society and the innovations taking place in the healthcare industry.
