Prof. Ashwini Kumar Nangia - Achievement
Prof. Ashwini Kumar Nangia has been honored with the Visitor’s Award for Research in Physical Sciences (2023), one of the most prestigious recognitions in Indian academia, presented by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on March 3, 2025, at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Instituted in 2014, the Visitor’s Award is the highest recognition conferred by the President of India to celebrate exceptional contributions in the fields of research, innovation, and technology development.
This achievement acknowledges Prof. Nangia’s groundbreaking research in Multicomponent Cocrystals and Salts (MCCS), a supramolecular synthon approach that enhances the solubility, permeability, and bioavailability of drugs. His pioneering work has significantly reduced R&D costs and time, benefiting India’s generics pharma industry and enabling affordable healthcare solutions for critical diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and cancer. His contributions are expected to drive advancements in drug discovery and translational research, opening new opportunities for generic drug manufacturing and making essential medicines more accessible and cost-effective.
