Sudha Tiwari - Achievement

Dr. Sudha Tiwari, School of Liberal Studies and Humanities, UPES, has published her book The State and New Cinema in Contemporary India, 1960–1997 with Routledge (2024). The book offers a historical examination of the relationship between the postcolonial Indian state and the New Cinema movement, highlighting the role of cultural policy, state institutions, and political change in shaping cinematic practice. Through its contribution to the cultural history of modern India, the work advances scholarship at the intersection of history, film studies, and public policy.
