He holds an M.Sc. degree in Mathematics & Computing and a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He has received multiple research awards and fellowships in recognition of his scholarly contributions. In addition to research and teaching, he is involved in Ph.D. supervision, academic administration, and the organization of conferences and workshops. Work Experience

Dr. Anil Negi has over six years of academic experience in teaching and research. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) in the Department of Mathematics at UPES, Dehradun. 

Previously, he held various academic positions at VIT-AP University, Amaravati, from 2019 to 2025, progressing from Assistant Professor (Junior) to Assistant Professor Senior Grade-I. His experience includes teaching, Ph.D. supervision, postgraduate research mentoring, academic administration, and departmental coordination roles. 

Research Interests

Modelling of seismic and elastic waves in porous, viscoelastic, piezoelectric, and functionally graded materials; geomechanics; smart materials; dynamic stress concentration; moving load problems; surface irregularities. 

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Anil Negi believes teaching is a collaborative and engaging learning process built on clarity, curiosity, and encouragement. He aims to make mathematics accessible and relevant by connecting theoretical concepts with practical and real-world applications. 

His classroom approach emphasizes active participation, open discussion, and collaborative problem-solving, helping students build confidence in their analytical abilities. He is particularly attentive to students requiring additional guidance and strives to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters critical thinking and independent learning.

Calculus for Engineers, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematical Structures, Applications of Differential and Difference Equations, Engineering Mathematics. His teaching spans foundational, applied, and advanced-level mathematics courses for engineering, science, and applied mathematics students. 

Awards and Grants

Dr. Anil Negi has received several academic honours and research awards. He was awarded the Merit-Cum Scholarship during his M.Sc. studies and research fellowships during his Ph.D. 

He also received the VIT-AP University Research Award for research publications in Engineering and Advanced Sciences for the academic years 2023–24 and 2024–25. 

Scholarly Activities

Dr. Anil Negi is actively engaged in scholarly activities that contribute to the advancement of applied mathematics and interdisciplinary research. He has published extensively in reputed international peer-reviewed journals in the areas of wave propagation, elastodynamics, geomechanics, and smart materials. His research addresses complex mathematical modelling of seismic waves, moving load problems, and stress analysis in heterogeneous and porous media. 

He regularly serves as a reviewer for several SCI-indexed journals published by leading international publishers, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Wiley, and Taylor & Francis. He has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences and delivered invited talks in faculty development programs on advanced topics in wave mechanics and applied mathematics. 

He is also involved in organizing international conferences and workshops, supervising Ph.D. scholars, and contributing to academic governance through interview panels and research activities.
