Profile Summary

Dr. Bhuwan is working in the field of Optimization theory.  He pursued his Ph.D. from Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has qualified CSIR-NET and U-SET in the field of Mathematical Sciences.

Work Experience

Before joining UPES, Dr. Bhuwan was working as an Assistant Professor (Mathematics) at Graphic Era (Deemed to be) University, Dehradun.   Prior to this he has worked as a lecturer in Amrapali University, Haldwani, Uttarakhand.

Research Interests

Variational Inequalities, Mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints (MPEC), Mathematical programs with vanishing constraints (MPVC), Interval valued optimization problems.

Teaching Philosophy

Dr. Bhuwan, strive to create a classroom atmosphere that is both supportive and intellectually stimulating, where curiosity is nurtured, and critical thinking is encouraged. 

As an educator, his goals include: 

  • Cultivating an enjoyable, engaging, and respectful classroom environment. 
  • Encouraging acceptance of diverse cultures and perspectives. 
  • Utilizing a range of methods to accommodate various learning styles, including technology-integrated tasks, case studies, interactive sessions for questions, and discussion-based exercises. 
  • Encouraging self-directed learning among students.

Courses Taught

Dr. Bhuwan has taught the Fundamental Engineering courses in his previous institutions. Other than that, he taught Complex analysis and Differential equations to undergraduate students.
